Prior's Court Young Adult Provision, the Cottages, supports young adults with autism up to 25 years to learn life and vocational skills within a person centred framework. Each young adult has autism and learning difficulties and may have additional complex needs and exhibit challenging behaviour. The Cottages provide a supportive living and learning environment to develop essential life and vocational skills, empowering young adults with autism to lead a fulfilling and purposeful life within the community. Each young adult develops a person centred plan which reflects their needs, skills and interests. Each is supported in a wide range of areas including self care, daily living, vocational, leisure, communication, choice-making and managing their own behaviour. Emphasis is placed on developing each individual's ability to participate within the local community providing a transitional step towards a more inclusive life.
