Prior's Court School is an independent special school for students with autism from 5-19 years. Students have moderate to severe learning difficulties; many have additional complex needs and associated diagnoses and can exhibit challenging behaviours. The school operates a person-centred approach, uniting autism expertise and knowledge with an understanding of the needs of each individual to support and maximise their potential and achieve real progress. A meaningful and functional curriculum with individualised learning programmes used throughout the waking day is built around each student's interest and skills. The school has a strong focus on developing independence, personal care and like skills, communication, choice-making and social skills as well as building vocational skills and providing opportunities for work placements onsite and out in the community. The rich and varied programme of activities on and off-site enables students to practice skills in a variety of settings and supports as inclusive a life as possible.
