Sleep Scotland is a sleep counselling service which provides support to families of children with special needs and severe sleep problems. Sleep Scotland provides multi professional training in behavioural and cognitive techniques in order to provide a service for families with special needs children. Professionals trained are from the statutory and voluntary sectors including; Social Workers, Doctors, Health Visitors, Psychologists, Teachers and Nurses. All of these provide a Sleep counselling service in conjunction with their professional lives. Some have Sleep Counselling integrated into their Job Descriptions, others provide the service voluntarily. Families may self-refer themselves for the service or be referred by professionals from the sectors mentioned above.
