Autism Wessex has started a Drop In Group for adults (17+) with Asperger syndrome and Autism in Southampton. It takes place every Thursday from 2.00pm to 4.00pm at Millennium Third Age Centre. The group provides an opportunity for people to meet others with the condition to socialise and share ideas in a supportive and friendly environment. People do not have to have had a diagnosis to attend. There's a real mix of people who attend Autism Wessex's drop-in groups and they always have a couple of members of staff present to welcome new members and to oversee the session. As it can be quite daunting joining a group for the first time people who are interested in joining are welcome to pop in and take a look first - just contact Autism Wessex's Information and Advice Team to arrange a visit.
