Founded in 1968 by parents of children with autism, Autism Wessex (formerly The Wessex Autistic Society) is a voluntary organisation concerned for the welfare of people with autism and their parents/carers. Since then the Society has developed a number of services for both children and adults as well as offering emotional and practical supports to families. Services include a free, confidential and impartial Information and Advice Service. Autism Wessex caters for autism and other developmental disorders, learning disabilities and associated mental health problems.
