The West Centre (CDC, CAMHS)

Type of service: Assessment, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS), Child Development Centres (CDC)
Provides a one-stop shop for families with children with disabilities in the West of Glasgow and parts of East/West Dunbartonshire. The Child Development Centre (CDC) consists of a team of professionals who work in partnership with parents and carers to ensure that a child reaches his or her full potential. The teams consist of Paediatricians, Physiotherapists, Occupation Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Specialist Health Visitors, Nursery Nurse and Clinical Psychologists. Community and Educational Audiology and the Social Work Resource Team are also available within the centre. CAMHS service is also provided from the Centre. Children are usually referred through their GP via the Health Visitor attached to the Practice. Sometimes children are referred by hospital Paediatricians and occasionally by other community child health staff.
