Tim Nicholls is Head of Policy and Public Affairs at the National Autistic Society (NAS). In his years at the NAS, Tim has worked on the new Autism Act Statutory Guidance, and campaigned on long autism diagnosis waiting times, reducing the number of autistic mental health inpatients and improving teacher training.
Tim kindly agreed to be interviewed when he attended the National Autistic Society Professional Conference in 2019.
In this interview Tim discusses 10 years of the Autism Act in England, exploring what worked, what didn’t and which areas still need improving on. Tim also explores whether the Autism Act and Think Autism strategy went far enough in supporting autistic adults.
