Mencap is a United Kingdom (UK) learning disability charity working with people with a learning disability and their families and carers. It fights for equal rights, campaigns for greater opportunities and challenges attitudes and prejudice. It also provides advice and support to meet people's needs throughout their lives. It is an individual membership organisation, with a local network of more than 1,000 affiliated groups. Its work is shaped by what members say about their needs and wishes.
